In order to paint walls with high quality, you can use the following types of paints:

Epoxy (polyurethane) – best used in places of high humidity (bathroom, kitchen), because has high strength and moisture resistance parameters;

Glossy and semi-gloss – also have high resistance to external influences;

Matte – less durable compared to previous types;
Latex paint – a high level of strength and resistance to sunlight, retains its original appearance for a long time;

Emulsion – dries very quickly, completely non-toxic, a good choice for painting walls in a nursery. A distinctive feature is that this paint cannot be applied to metal surfaces and wallpaper.

Silicate – made using liquid potassium glass that reacts with a lime-containing mixture. This type of paint is distinguished by its high cost, as well as very good durability, vapor permeability, and ease of cleaning.

First of all, complex areas are painted: corner joints, joints or transitions, niches and partitions, as well as other similar areas. It is convenient to paint them using a hand-held, pointed round brush, applying strips of paint no more than 10 cm wide.

It is important to use the brush carefully, picking up paint little by little and squeezing out the excess on the edge of the can. If you press too hard, the paint will flow from the brush, forming streaks on the surface, and the applied layer will turn out to be very thin. Light pressure will produce a narrow streak of paint and a rough layer. Therefore, first you need to place the brush against the wall, press lightly and, as the paint is consumed, gradually increase the pressure.

A layer of paint is then applied to the main surface area. The most commonly used paint roller has the advantage of blending the paint under pressure.

It is better to paint the walls from top to bottom, apply the paint in broad strokes, followed by shading. The paint is not applied over the entire surface at once, but sequentially, moving from section to section, the average width of such a section is up to 2 meters.
